Objective:

Identify a small fear that has been holding you back and face it.

Details:

The Things That Go Bump DIY objective asks you to choose a BIG fear and tackle it. For this micro objective, we’ll tackle something smaller.

Our fears, whether consciously or subconsciously, dictate our behaviors. Often times that’s a good thing! Fear can keep us safe, after all. But sometimes fear holds us back from doing what we want in life.

1) Take a few minutes to write a list of actions you should be doing, but have been procrastinating.

2) Scan your list, and identify which of these actions you’ve been putting off, at least in part, due to fear.

3) Choose a single item, one of the least scary on the list, and tackle it. Have that slightly awkward conversation! Make that doctor’s appointment! Finally make eye contact with that attractive barista!

Note: If your activities feel too big, can you break them down into smaller parts. Instead of “Go to the doctor,” maybe you could research a doctor to go to, or call to make an appointment.

4) In the comments below, let us know what you tackled.
